Industrial Caulk & Seal revives an old colored concrete floor

Industrial Caulk and seal was contracted to rejuvenate a dyed polish concrete floor that another company had produced years ago. The customer was unhappy with the dull color appearance, scratches, and over all shine that their existing floor provided.

To obtain the look the customer desired, Industrial Caulk and Seal started the process with a grind. Removing all the imperfections and scratches from the existing concrete. ICS foreman Chris Kilgore then lead his crew in re-dying the three-toned concrete to brighten up the colors. Though it may sound simple it wasn’t an easy task. Chris ran into the issue of the colors running into one another but was quick to put his years of experience into play to remedy the problem by applying the dye by hand on the edges where two colors would meet.

Once the dye was applied Industrial Caulk and Seal then completed the process by polishing the floor and protecting it with SASE signature guard. Leaving behind and aesthetically pleasing dyed concrete floor as well as another happy customer.

Industrial Caulk & Seal Bringing Life Back into Old Concrete

Industrial Caulk & Seal has been contracted to take care of a floor locally that has seen far better days. After days of grinding, polishing, and dying the floors, we left them with a finished product that they will be happy with for years to come.

When Industrial Caulk & Seal arrived at the jobsite the floors were covered in mastic where they had once been covered in carpet. The process of removing mastic may seem simple to most but to maintain the concrete beneath it, it is best to leave it to the professionals.

The estimators of Industrial caulk & Seal have the difficult task of evaluating these floors and coming up with an execution plan to reach the customers end goal: an esthetically pleasing floor.

For this floor in particular, Joe Dean determined it would be best to first remove the mastic with “The Terminator”, a tile remover with a flat scraper blade that will not chip the concrete and cause need for further repairs. Then follow that up with an aggressive grind continued by ICS’ acclaimed polishing process, leaving behind a beautiful floor and another happy customer.

Industrial Caulk & Seals production at its best...

Industrial Caulk & Seal has been contracted to complete a 136,000 Ln. Ft. MM-80 joint fill installation throughout an 800,000 Sq. Ft. warehouse in an undisclosed location.

Cory Flohr and Joe Dean, Industrial Caulk & Seals sales team, teamed up on this project due to its size and together they estimated the designated joint fill scope to take approximately 38 working days to complete. Though remarkably for this amount of work Larry McCracken, the foreman leading this project, and his men will be finishing up this job 2 working weeks ahead of schedule.

When asked what factors made it possible to make such quick progress Larry was quick to come back to say his team. He had said that “The floor is wide open, so we get there, and everyone knows exactly what to do. We have a really good program in place where each guy is focusing on one step of the joint fill process which results in us filling well beyond our daily footage goals”.

The Joint fill process is as follows:
1. Apply Stain preventative film
2. Mechanically clean joints
3. Remove dirt and debris from joints
4. Fill joints with Metzger McGuire’s, MM80
5. Shave off overfill

This project was not always easy for Larry and his crew. The first few days on site Larry and his men had to make do with very limited lighting. Overcoming all obstacles, Industrial Caulk & Seal can effortlessly say that Mr. McCracken’s progress on this project has been prodigious.
